Poetry NOW!

Currently, we are reviewing our Poetry, Prose Night at Arts Herndon. Led by Mike Maggio we are planning to start this wonderful evening later in the year. We are also starting an informal Open Mic Night in June. Please look out for notifications.

Herndon Poetry Trail

We are also developing the Herndon Poetry Trail with the help of some amazing and talented poets Katherine M. Gotthardt, John Dutton, Sheila Anwar, and our own Jay McClendon! Please check the Window Gallery at Arts Herndon to read some of these poets. As we build our works we will be framing and taking them to local businesses. So, if you are a poet, if you enjoy writing—please send your work to info@artsherndon.org and we will be curating the works through the summer.

Writer In Residence

During the pandemic closure, we talked with local poet and writer Jay McClendon—and it became obvious that if we are to make the literary arts a part of Arts Herndon we needed someone to have an oversight on this program, in order to share their professional insights. Jay is helping to curate the Herndon Poetry Trail.
